Meet Marina De Silva

Special Needs Educator | Accessibility Affirming | Neurodiversity Affirming | 20+ Years of Experience Supporting Diverse Learners

My name is Marina De Silva. I was born and educated in Sri Lanka, completing my primary, secondary, and university studies in my home country before migrating to Canada for family reasons—though my heart remains closely connected to Sri Lanka.

I am an educator at heart. Over the past 30+ years in Canada, I have continued to deepen my knowledge and passion for supporting neurodivergent students. With more than two decades of hands-on experience, I have worked with learners across a wide range of learning, physical, communication, and sensory needs.

My teaching practice is grounded in respect, patience, and an unwavering belief in the strengths, abilities, and potential of every learner. I am committed to accessibility affirming and neurodiversity affirming education, ensuring that every student feels valued, understood, and empowered to succeed.
